I will be in the area of unit 89 for a Pronghorn Archery hunt the first week of September. Has anyone ever hunted this unit or a nearby unit for Elk? Do you recommend an out-of-stater purchase an OTC tag? Thanks.

You will be probably at least a 3hr drive from 89 to any OTC archery elk units

OTC elk licenses are good for 89 and all the surrounding units but I've never heard of any elk being out there.
