Colorado unit 7 muzzleloader

Hello, I hunted unit 7 back in 2013 and have not been back since. Has anything changed? Thinking about applying for the muzzloader tag.

Are the camping spots pretty limited still? thanks!

Big fire on the south side last year. Not sure if they will be opening the trail systems in that area as rumor was alot of the burned areas would remain closed until the threat of falling timber had reduced. This could greatly limit access of that unit as a large. I'm aware of this information because I need to get into the burned areas east of there to retrieve game cams.

Thank you for the fast response! That answers my next question about the fire. Im hoping to get somewhere this fall to burn up my 4 points. Doesn't look good in drawing Montana. thanks!

Well, you'll definitely burn up 4 PPs as it only took 1 PP for a guarantee ML tag last year - both Res & NonRes

Lots of country in 7 that didnt burn last year

With 4 points to burn I would look elsewhere. Many better units for muzzy elk in NW and Southern CO. Check out the CPW Hunting Stats for starters.
