Guys, I'm looking for some recommendations for a good solid, around the truck tripod. My truck glassing usually consists of either a 50mm spotter or 15x56 binos.

I searched all the tripod threads, but most were dealing with good, lightweight tripods. I'm looking for a bigger model where weight isn't an issue. I had an old Slik, but broke the center crank off it this weekend.

Anybody have any recommendations for a bigger, solid tripod that extends high enough to glass while standing? Don't really want to spend more than $150-200 if possible.

I use an Induro tripod with a vanguard ph111 head. It's a great little setup and I actually use it in the backcountry. It's really stable. I had it in 30 mph wind last weekend and it handled well. I was very impressed with it. I will get the exact name/model number if your interested.

Velbon Sherpa 600R. With the PH157Q head. Rock solid, very functional and wont break the bank. It's what I use for the truck and quad type hunts.

Wyo, if you have time, that would be great.

Thanks!

Manfrotto tripods are awesome. If you want a full-size tripod check out the 055XDB. 055 Basic Tripod (Black) 055XDB - 055 Series, Manfrotto.
If you want something a little smaller, check out the 055XV
055 View Aluminium Tripod 055XV - X Family, Manfrotto. Either of these can be had for <$200 and all you need to add is a head of some sort.BTW...I have both of these tripods and love them.

I went with this one for when I am hunting from the truck. I also run the Vanguard PH-111v and just swap the head from my back country set up. Very solid and reaches way the hell up there if needed.

If you are not over 6' you may be able to get away with this one - a little shorter and not quite the weight capacity but with just binos and a 50mm spotter you may be ok.
