Savory (not sweet) Bars?

Hi All,

I've got the whole range of bars I rotate with a few favorites, like Probar meal or the Kind (salt and... ), but I often find myself not craving so much sweetness. I'll often carry beef jerky for savory or even nuts, but I'd love to find some bar options.

Anyone have some savory bars you love?

Thx

I could totally see making a bunch of those and playing with the recipe to flavor. So when they're cooked and dried out like that in the oven, I assume they keep for a long time?

Does it need to be shelf stable? I have a tour de france "cookbook" of sorts and one of the items this team carried was a sticky rice, egg, bacon bar wrapped up in small foil "bars". You can freeze and eat when they thaw.

They are great. I have subbed the egg and bacon for sweet items like chocolate chips and brown rice syrup also. Possibilities are endless.

Here is the original recipe from "the feed" cookbook -
