Shelter options for rainy hunting trips

Just got back from a couple day hunt with some pretty bad rain. Currently using a Seek Outside Silex with a nest. It basically poured for a day and when I got back to camp, everything I had was soaked. Getting inside the shelter was a cluster as every time I lifted the sides to get gear out, water would pour down and into my tent and dry gear. There has to be a better option. What do you all do when you know the weather is gonna be horrible and rain is a given? What shelters or tent set ups work good for getting back to camp and keeping your gear and sleeping space dry while having room to store your stuff? Also the bugs were awful so keeping those out would be nice.

I use a Kifaru Tut tipi with a Bivy or MLD Duomid nest on one side. (always use a Borah Gear Bivy but tried the Duomid nest for the first time this last week with great results). I want to move to a smaller shelter like the Silex but having the space and large dry area during storms keeps me from "downsizing".
