@deerhunter628 mentioned this guy’s YouTube channel in a thread yesterday, and it sent me down a huge rabbit hole. If you have not seen it go check it out. Not super slick, high quality production, but super high-quality information. He focuses on rifle bullet testing in gelatin. Lots of people do that, but:
a) He uses 10% Knox gelatin which is way more representative of what happens in flesh than the tougher Clear Ballistics gel that’s becoming common in videos now.
b) He tests full power loads and reduced power loads to evaluate potential effects at longer ranges, with an intent to get an idea of what speed it takes to get a specific bullet to open up.
He has over a hundred videos posted testing a wide variety of bullets, ranging from match to bonded controlled expansion to monos. It’s pretty good stuff. Give it a look and support the guy by subscribing if you like what you see.
