Today I learned I don't know what a 300" bull is

Filled my Colorado archery elk tag yesterday. It was an epic adventure, and exactly the bull I dreamed about finding in this unit. Now, inches don't matter much to me, and every bull I've killed previously has been small, but when I saw him on the ground I thought he was for sure a 300" bull. Got home and rough taped him, and he's 270". I learned today that a lot of the so called 300" bulls I've seen in my life, probably weren't.

Same experience last year. Same measurement actually too.

Regardless good bull. As a warning. When you try and hang it on a wall it gets challenging 270” or 300”. Plan ahead!

Great bull, OTC in Colorado, a 6x6 is a trophy to be proud of regardless of tape score. I would hang my tag on that bull any day of the week.

It takes a lot for a bull to get to 300". That bull looks a lot like a deadhead I found a couple years ago that scored in the same range.

Also, there is a reason 260" is the P&Y min, any mature bull with a bow is hard.

Nice bull. I have a couple like that. When you see guys throw around 300” like it’s a starting point it always makes me roll my eyes. 300 IS A BIG ASS BULL!!!!
