I have a 5 year old (bought new) Yamaha Grizzly 550 with power steering. I use it mostly for plowing and work on my land. No issues with it. Would highly suggest power steering. I am in central Wisconsin.
I bought the Hawke 50mm ED and am very pleased with it. I would put it on par with my first generation Razor 65mm though it does give up a little bit at first/last light and in the magnification dept. (not enough for me to be concerned with). I tell everyone it depends on how you use a...
If you go the 50mm route I suggest looking at the Hawke 50 ED. I recently picked one up for a packing scope. Saying that is depends what your plans for using a spotter are. You can read my thoughts under the Hawke optics thread.
UPS delivered the KDC today and the weather was warmer so took the chance to look everything over while I could.
The Hawke 50ED looks like it will work for my intended purposes. My plan is to use it for a light weight pack scope away from the truck. I generally glass with bino and then...
I recently picked up the little Hawke 50 spotting scope. Haven't had a chance to really try it out due to the cold weather here. Seems to be pretty nice for a small spotter that can easily slide in a pack. Waiting on a KDC tripod to put with it. Let me know if I can answer any questions.
Joel, that Promaster looks like exactly what I want but it is a little on the heavy side. I am still contemplating the Sirui. I believe that is the one we discussed on the phone a week or two ago. I would be all in on it but I really want to see if I can find something that will give me the...
So long winded question. I day hunt mostly sage flats for mule deer and antelope. I have a 65mm Razor that I seldom carry when hunting because of the weight of the spotter combined with a tripod is a little over 5.5 lbs. Once scouting is done and we are on to the hunt we spend most of the...
Got the Klamath in. Ordered size medium and it fits well for my purposes. Quickly tried it on with just a regular t-shirt underneath (would normally wear a long sleeve Llano underneath) and here are my observations. I wanted a tight fit for a second layer the chest is perfect (I am about...
Probably be a week or two before I get my hands on it. Ordered with no special shipping so won't arrive until next week at the earliest. I will be gone for work so it will probably be another week before I see it.
Zero - Kinda what I was thinking. While the Kowa is lighter I am thinking the ED glass in the Hawke would be worth the small weight penalty. The Hawke is still light being about half the weight of the Razor. I am guessing the better glass may give me an extra minute or two at first/last light...
