    McCall Idaho Spring Bear

Looking for some advice for Spring bear near McCall. Was thinking mid-May maybe. Would this be too early in a normal year? I know what the weather was like during elk season this year north of McCall. Would it be better to come in and set up a bait site or spot and stalk? Is it hunted hard...

    Idaho McCall Zone

Rifle. I have not spent enough time in Idaho in my life. I’m here more for the experience, a small trophy would be a bonus. I have tags for everything to potentially boost success. I’ll have an RV base in McCall and will spike from there.

    Idaho McCall Zone

I am lucky enough to be hunting the McCall Zone this fall. We have a couple of starting points picked out as best we can sitting on our butts out of state. We do not mind packing back to shed the crowds but we are also aware the country is big and thick. I’ve hunted Idaho before just not this...

The only 14 day camping limit I'm aware of is in the wilderness areas.

Idaho 4,6,7. Is mid-May going to be too early this year?

That is good news. I had also heard it was a bad winter for deer, will that impact how I hunt? Will that keep the bears away from the grassy areas?

Info on Area 20 in Wyoming?

Leftover tags sold out pretty quickly last year. Not a lot of public land, but I haven't had a hard time finding them the last couple of years. Bucks aren't huge, game wardens were almost shocked to see my 14 1/4 buck last season. Saw two more that size, one on public and one just off. You...

I purchased leftover tags for Unit 20 the last two years, though they went quick last year...

I purchased leftover tags for Unit 20 the last two years, though they went quick last year. I've killed a 12 and 14 1/4 inch buck. They don't typically get to 14 1/4 in this unit, the game warden I spoke with was shocked to see it. I did see a couple that were close, one in a strip of public...

Idaho 4,6,7. Is mid-May going to be too early this year?

I plan to hunt Idaho units 4 to 6 area in mid-May, 13-20 staying in Avery. Will it be huntable with this year's snowpack?. Are there any areas that may locally have smaller amounts of snow? Including Potlatch land. Or should I just assume a snow seeing trip?

    Idaho Unit 6 spring bear

That is what I wanted to know. I just bought a permit for access to Potlatch land hoping for better access. Thanks for the info.

    Antelope and rattlesnakes

We saw one opening weekend in a rocky area near Kaycee this year. Very unagressive, just shook us off.

    Idaho Unit 6 spring bear

New to the forum, what a great place for information. I am sure this has all been discussed and apologize in advance. Due to work issues I will be unable hunt this fall. That's not all bad because now I can attempt a Spring bear hunt in Idaho and "scout out" an area for future hunts. This is...
