Crispi briksdal, zamberlan, other boots for narrow heels

I seem to have normal width forefoot and very narrow heels. I tried on a set of Zamberlan vioz this morning because I was told they are fairly tight in the heel but normal up front. Seemed to fit pretty well. I understand their backpacking last, the one in this boot, is pretty good at locking in...

What call to use for later season spring bear?

That does sound pretty funny. Complete lack of suspicion and the attention span of a middle school child

What call to use for later season spring bear?

Sounds like it might not be worth it to be actually calling bears for me... Maybe I just need to bring one in case I want to get ones attention and bring it in. Can't bring my electronic. Would using a cow diaphragm call and making calf noises be a good bet

What call to use for later season spring bear?

I see. We're bivying several days at a time so I won't be able to bring my electronic. Might be worth it to run it from nearer the truck on inbetween days. And no grizz where we are.

What call to use for later season spring bear?

Going spring bear in 3 weeks, Idaho. Hunting into mid June. Do y'all prefer rabbit, fawn, calf or cub distress? Would cub be more likely to fetch sows? I already have a mouth cow call and all I'd have to do is practice making calf noises with that. Thanks y'all

Advice for 18 year old doing spring bear in Idaho first time

Haha, well I will have zero familiarity with any unit and I don't know exactly where to look for em. We have 3 weeks to hunt though so hopefully we can figure things out after the first week or two.

Advice for 18 year old doing spring bear in Idaho first time

Basically one of the McCall biologists told me that there probably wouldn't be much of a point going to the river breaks this late in the season because they're so low. She said a lot of the green probably wouldn't be fresh anymore and a lot of bears might be higher up

That's about what I figured. Just leaving it open for anyone who has specific advice for any of the units. I will definitely keep elevation flexibility in mind as I e scout though, I hadn't thought about that much before. Thanks

    Bear locational strategy ID

First of all thanks to everyone who's helped out for the WEALTH of information I've gained from this forum. I'm down to a handful of choices for Idaho bear this May-June. Looking between units 25, 19, 19a and 14. My basic idea was to either hunt 25, or utilize the Salmon breaks in one of the...

    Backcountry meal options

Dry salami and similar things have been in my mind and sound really appealing. I think I would have given half my ammo on a lot of my hunts for a hard sausage.
