    Nothing for me with 2 PP. I did book a late season cow hunt though with an outfitter. Thankfully there are cow tags OTC in some areas.

    North Dakota or South Dakota Archery?

    ND deer #s are way down compared to 3-4 years ago. Last winter was absolutely brutal on them. I shot a small whitetail archery buck this year just to fill the freezer. The muley pressure in the badlands has increased so much that the G&F is looking at making big changes in the near future...

    Pants- Sitka/Kuiu

    I have used the Kuiu Pro pant with built in knee pads and the Guide pant for elk hunting in Sept. and Oct. Both have worked well. Antelope in September the Tiburon gets my vote. They all have held up great and i love the side zippers as stated above.

    Fwiw I hunted that area for antelope this year. I saw zero elk but that was in late September.

    Early 90's Browning BAR Safari 7mm Rem Mag. Scheels 4 x 12 el cheapo scope. 150 gr. Cor Lokt. So far this year its killed one bull elk and two antelope.

    How many big game tags is too many?

    2023: 2 elk 2 deer 2 antelope 1 elk filled 1 antelope filled plan on filling the other elk and antelope tag...deer tag if the horns are big. Family of 3 will eat 50% of the meat and the rest goes to family and friends.

    How long would it take for you to give up?

    Ive only been on 4 elk hunts before this year. 5th time was the charm for me killing one. Keep at it and dont ever even think about quitting. Change up tactics if youre not seeing them and proceed from there.

    Opening day vs 3rd weekend of season

    I plan on heading to MT for antelope the third weekend to. I know there will be the deer and elk hunters out and about but i think that will add to the hunt?.. just got back on Tuesday from WY doing a combo antelope/elk hunt and it turned out great. Bagged one of each.

    Do you take a backup rifle on hunts?

    Yes. The .243 travels with everywhere i go under the back seat and my main rifle either the 7MM or 300 is in the front. The pistol is in the glove box or on me.

    ^^Thats what is concerning. I know of at least one solar farm project in CA that went belly up and the cleanup costs were crazy. I can see these things in the next 25-30 years just littering the landscape. Hope i am wrong!

    ^^^ The one proposed in my backyard was 2,500 acres. They, the solar company, wouldn't say where the power was going other than "into the grid." Well low and behold right across the border in MN they have a proclamation that by 2030 they want to be 100% green and stop buying their electricity...
