What would you go with for elk hunting in Oct/Nov in relatively open country?

A single set of 12's or both 10's & 15's?

All binos would be on a tripod and the mid-range glass.
Just need to find elk, and tell it's a large vs small bull, but don't need to make out much antler detail.

10x42

I will use a tripod too, but while still hunting, riding my horse or at the truck, they won't be on the tripod.

Just buy the best pair you can.

If you are not trophy hunting, 10×42s will get the job done. Only bring a small lightweight tripod if you will be doing a ton of glassing in open country.

I used to use and love 10x42’s. Now using the 12x42 NL’s I would never go back.

If you are buying a new pair, and they are designated to go on a tripod for open country they go 12x. Don't know if that is the case, but if so why sell yourself short with 10x only or cary the extra weight of 10x plus the 15's?

I love my mid level grade 12x pair on a tripod.
