I was always particular to "shim" but I am an engineer so it works.

I've heard about whitetails before but never saw any evidence.

That's weird. I would be extra paranoid transporting him/her if you separate the head from the body. Game Warden might not believe that the body is from a buck that matches the antlers. If you had both tags, whould you put a doe tag or a buck tag on it?

I asked a wildlife & Parks officer several years ago about this scenario in my home state and his words were “if it has visible polished antlers, then use the antlered tag”

Nice job BFR. Anytime a liberal deer starts pushing the LGBTQ+ agenda it should be taken out of the herd before it starts affecting the others!

That is crazy! Good job though! In my state I don't know what I would keep for proof of sex....

I've seen similar to this with mule deer. They are called cactus bucks. Because usually have real heavy main beams that go up with lots of short stubby points. But they have a pecker to go with no balls. That is quite a strange deer. Let bio do tests on it.

This buck was a typical 4x4, no antler oddity at all, no pecker or balls, just a urinary tube going to the bladder. Oh and nipples.

Most cactus bucks I've seen don't shed thier velvet though.

I believe that's a gender neutral deer. Shame on all of you guys for assuming its gender just based on the fact that it had antlers. :)
OP - Congrats on a good deer either way.

Nope, straight up nothing there. Skinned out the entire package and nothing.

Nice I’ve heard of doe deer with antlers never seen it what a cool trophy. Even female elk can grow antlers but I’ve not seen that either. I think it’s very cool and rules do allow for this as a buck or antlered deer in Colorado even though it’s a female. Congrats

That’s just it, there’s no sex organs of either, and no udder, just nipples. I’ve seen does with antlers and they’ve been pretty spindly and small but still had the proper equipment.
