So blessed, grateful, & thankful for the opportunity to mountain hunt desert bighorn sheep. December 13,2022 - Unit 45C, Kofa National Wildlife Refuge, Arizona.
God please continue to bless America! Also, short thanks to all of the conservation organizations and their members that support hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Merry Christmas to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.
That pose is popular because it does a better job of showing off the horn(s) than a frontal shot or a straight on side shot, especially with sheep that are broomed, or less than full curl.
Desert and California BH rarely reach full curl, so this pose is see more often with them.
After a lot of years solo hunting I finally got my first ram this year.
I passed on a squeeker early on in the season at 15 yards, and connected with this guy the last day of the season.
This season alone I hunted 23 days, hiked 205 km (127 miles), and climbed 16 km (52,493 feet) vertical according to my garmin gps watch. That doesnt include all the preseason scouting trips.
But I found a ram I had taken photos of before, just never finding him during the season.
He was 11.5 years old, 9.5 in the photos.
