Looking for a start for 162gr eldx or 168 Berger hunters using H1000/n565. Shot the ladder test box from Unknown Munitions with H4831sc and the 162 eldx and 175 Bergers in nosler brass. Speeds were a bit underwhelming in the 24.5" tube 1:9 twist. With current component availability I'm looking to work up a load with powders I have, hence h1000 and n565. Seems 58-62gr H1000 could be a start.

Anyone have any experience here?

Yes I have looked at that and own the nosler manual, however h1000 is only listed for 175gr. Should I be looking at similar burn rates listed or how do I infer from there a start?

My Hornady book does not show a load for 162 eldx and h1000. I am a new reloader and have no experience with 280ai.

However, with experience loading 300wm and h1000 I would guess your case does not have enough capacity for h1000 with a speed you would like. imho

For reference my h1000 280ai load is 59.5gr with a 180 eldm or scenar. It has a shorter throat so bullets are in the case aways, iirc it's compressed a bit. You probably won't be able to fit enough h1000 in the case to get extreme pressure, but with a moderately compressed load you might be in a good place.

Believe its 3.33 as a Sammi spec chamber. I know I should get an OAL guage ordered and measure it up.

I am hoping to find an accuracy and speed node 2800-2900 but may have to find a way to trade for reloader.

Oh, I thought it listed it for the 160's. My mistake.

My 9 twist 24" barreled 280AI is pushing 168 Bergers at 2830 with 55.5gr of IMR4831. YMMV. 3.33 COAL WLR primers

I grabbed some IMR4831 since I cannot find H4831sc. I plan to try it with the 162 ELDs and 150 Scirocco. Just waiting on the rifle from HCA.

I have loads for 140 SGKs, 145LRXs as well. 140s with IMR4831, and 4451 for the LRXs.
