I shoot 162 ELD-Xs out of mine. It is a 22" Proof and I get the best accuracy at slightly slower speeds. I have used 4350 and 4831 successfully but wish I could get my hands on some RL23. My load last hunting season which took 5 animals was the 162 ELD X over 54g of IMR 4350 3.453" COAL 2860fps.

IMR 7828ssc, R23 and R26 all are provided great accuracy and great velocity over 3000 fps for me. The Reloder powders are hard to find and go quickly when they show up but are amazing. 7828ssc is more available and works very well. I’m currently using R26 with 160 accubonds and it’s accurate and lays the smack down on big bulls.

When I had my custom 280ai I used rl26 and 59.3 grains . 168 Berger vlds. Consistently shot .3 groups. And was hell on the elk!

Have you had issues with 7828ssc being temp unstable?

I’ve only shot it during the fall, so I couldn’t tell you if it’s has temp problems. I’ve just stuck with R26 right now and have that as my back up powder.

The most accurate load I've tried in my Browning X-bolt is a max charge of RL 26 with a Barnes 150gr TTSX bullet for 3050fps. Unfortunately RL 26 is impossible for me to find.

They are super hard to find and cost you as much as a sheep tag😂 but if you’re patient and diligent you can find them. Nosler will Im sure be doing another run of them this year. It is an amazing bullet!!

What would you suggest for a starting load with RL 16. I'm having a hard time finding any data for that powder with my 280AI

I’d start 56.5 and work up, 140g - 150g bullet
I got ejector swipe around 57.5 and 3115fps in my 22in barrel with fed 210s
