Has anyone ever hunted Large Hogs with a 6.5 Grendel and if so, what are your results? I recently acquired one with some Hornady 123grn SST. Rifle is extremely accurate and has hardly any recoil. I have hunted alot of hogs using .308 and yes I know POA/POI is a huge factor. Just curious about others results. Thanks

Not personally but it has a huge following from hog guys on YouTube and a couple other gun type forums. I really enjoy mine it has a heck of a punch

I'm sure that 6.5 Grendel will serve all of your intents for hog at long, short, or medium range. Your bullet weight will knock them down properly with a correct shot.

I have a few 6.5 Grendel’s, but have never killed a hog. I wouldn’t have any issue using one though.
They are fun little pop guns.
Coyotes don’t like them any.
They are slow-ish so seem to do well with the softer bullets.

My middle boy shot a big one one almost 2 years ago (he was 8) using a 120 ELD-M in a 6.5 G. First time we killed with a match bullet and all the hype is true. His lungs were like a bowl of chili.

The 6.5 G and 123 SST are very effective on WT. I have shot 5 deer with them, all of them expired in less than 75 yards. The 123 SSTs are not quite as destructive out of the 6.5 G as they are out of the 6.5 CM but still potent.

Yeap. Killed quite a few with my Grendel. I used 123 wolf gold. I had a Ruger predator shot lights out.

Sample size of 1, so take it for what it's worth.

I've killed 1 WT with a 123 grr SST, and I won't be using it again. He only went 70-80 yards, but there was no exit and the blood trail was almost non-existent, in some snow. I don't have an issue with the 6.5G, but if I use it again, it will be with a different bullet.

As I found him. That spot of blood at his nose was the best there was along the trail. Nothing was coming out of the entrance hole.

yes I hunt hogs in georgia with a 6.5 Grendel and have had no problems, i have killed a few right at 200 lbs and a buddy of mine killed one that probably went 300 with his grendel

What velocities are y’all getting with your Grendels? I’m going to be running a 16.5” 6.5 CM and want to try the 123 SST on whitetail. Speeds may be comparable.

I have taken 2 decent sized boars with my Grendel and the 123 SST (2375 FPS with a 14" suppressed barrel). Both were 80-ish yards away. Both ran about 75 yds and soaked up 3 shots (2 in the vitals and 1 far back while running). None of them exited. The Grendel can do it, but the big boars are pretty tough. Small boars, sows and Whitetail deer fall much quicker.
