I just grabbed a 7mag barrel for my Pro Hunter. What are you all using for bullet weight for elk and big mulies? I’ve read the 150 range works well but just wanted to see what y’all were using. Thanks for the help.

I get great accuracy and great terminal performance with the Nosler Accubond bullets in 160 grains from my 7 rem mag. Taken many deer and 1 elk with this bullet

My Interarms Mauser likes 160 NPs and ABs equally. 24 in barrel, twist is 1/10 I believe. Effective on elk to @ least 225 yds, which is my longest shot taken.

My father used 160 gr. Partitions in his 7mm and shot antelope, deer, and elk with it. That's the only bullet he ever used. The 160 gr. Accubond would also be a fantastic bullet & weight to use in the 7mm Remington.

Perfect!!! I’ve been laying deer and elk out with my 168 grain bergers out of my .308 . Never owned a 7 but it seems like the noslers work really well. Thanks for the info

150 gr Barnes TTSX - Has done well on shots as close as 100 yards as well as one kill out to 650 (All good shots in the boiler room). Been a solid performer for me and don't plan on making changes.

168 gr Berger VLD, 160 gr Accubond, or 162 gr ELD-X. It would be very hard to go wrong with any of those rounds

I have the xbolt with the faster twist barrel. Anyone using a heavier bullet (like 175s) in their 7mm with success?

What’s “the faster twist barrel” exactly mean?? 1:8.5, 1:8? If you’re running one of those, I’d go with 180s
