You might also like to look at some Bino made by Vortex.

I bought some Vortex 8x32 before my elk hunt for the same reason. Looking thru dense cover at close range, and lightening up the load hanging on my neck. Couldn't be happier. They did what I needed them to do.

I have a little Sig Sauer 8x32 that I really like... it was cheap too... like, south of $200. Had it for 4-5 years, glass is still in great shape. My go to bowhunting bino.

Another vote for Zeiss Terra 8x32. Not the best all around midsize binos out there, but great performance for the price point.
