Any last minute meat hunt ideas?

Looking to get an elk hunt of any kind on the books for this November. I know Colorado OTC is an option, but wanted to see what else you guys think I should look into. Doesn't need to be a bull hunt, so cow would be fine. I'm still trying to learn all the possibilities in each state but am unclear on many of the regs.

I'd also be interested in going after mule deer if elk doesn't pan out.

in regards to mule deer, if you are strictly looking for meat there are plenty of units that you can draw a doe tag in Colorado while not having to waste preference points. this year my second or third choice was a doe tag and i drew the tag while also gaining a preference point for hopefully a buck tag next year.
