If you can get it at a good price, I'd do it. They are good rifles. You just need to understand they aren't precision rifles and use them within their capability. 300 and in should be no problem.

Well, you'll get a few gophers. But you had better have a good ammo supply.Yes, and most hunters will do just fine with a 2” grouping rifle to 300yds. Sighted in correctly that’s a 6” group at 300, kill anything but gophers!

I like that cheek riser. Homemade or commercial?I have been very happy with my stainless 300wsm take down. several loads produce 1 hole groups. The gun really like 225 eldm at 2700 fps and 212 eldx at 2920 fps. I have been impressed with consistent accuracy out to 1400 yards. I also have a load with 165 grain speer btsp. I bought 1000 of them on sale at midway for $15 per 100 and use 47.5 Grains of H 4895 for 2650 fps with a 1 hole group. makes for easy and cheap walk about shooting. these speers do well to about 750 yards. This is my first ever post and I'm not sure if it will even work. I joined just to let others know about the Greatness of the Browning Blr. I will try to post a picture from today's shooting. Shot the cow a few weeks ago. The Hornady 225 ELDM broke both shoulders and was found under the hide on the off side. The shot was only 400 yards but it was challenging. I had to take a high shoulder shot through a small opening of a forked tree. Lots of practice and shooting rocks well past 1000 yards pays off. My stock trigger pull is 3lbs 10 ouncs. Very smooth, some creep. I haven't gotten a round to taking it a part yet. Great rifle. View attachment 251827View attachment 251828View attachment 251829
