Colorado 2nd Season Mule Deer (units 28,18,371,37)

Just drew a non resident Mule deer tag for units 28,18,371,37 Oct 24-Nov 1 and checking to see if anyone had been to any of these units and any advice? My son, who is in the Army and stationed in Colorado Springs also has a deer tag for this unit/hunt and will be going up to scout the area as time permits on weekends. I know there is likely a good reason there were lots of tags and these units cover a huge amount of land from what research I have been able to do so far, but we both are willing to put in long/hard miles to get back where we need to be in order to see some animals, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the PM's. Since I live in MO and won't get to scout, my son is checking out the units on weekends as time permits. Looks like the key is to find remote/high ground away from any roads or ATV trails, which may be hard to do but we don't mind putting in the miles on foot to get away from the road hunters and ATV's.
