Cloth eyelets are bound to break due to lace friction...seems like a design flaw?
A second design thaw in this GTX boot is there is no full gortex bootie...only gortex up 2 inches in the boot.
This will cause wet feet any time the boot is deeper than 2 inches of water,
and also create a bathtub effect with a puddle of 2" water in the boot.
A better design would be either a full gortex bootie or no gortex at all,
and a metal eyelet instead of cloth.
