I hike 8 miles every morning here in Montana along a National Wildlife Refuge dike.
Some diver photos from that area.

On the way back, I pick up litter to keep the refuge clean and stretch out this 67 year old body.
This canvasback was curious about the white trash bag I was carrying:

Nice pics. We're covered up in Redheads down here but I've only ever killed one Canvasback. Unfortunately I was young and didn't realize it's rare for us so I ate him, nice drake would've made a great mount.

When I lived in Utah, I saw more redheads than cans.
In interior Alaska, I've seen only cans.
Here in western Montana, it is a mix of cans and redheads.
Both are nice looking ducks.
