Alright, questions in the title. Been doing a bunch (some might say too much) research on jackets for whitetail tree stand hunting lately and want to generate some more opinions. So what’s everyone’s take on jackets? Let’s break it into early season, mid-season, and late season.

Fleece vest
Fleece jacket, waybe w vest too
Some kind of puffy

If windy, i use breathable rain gear.

Flannel is my absolute fav., but we’re talking about sitting. Base layers are more important than jacket.

Hunting in Tx mostly so it doesn’t get too cold

Early/mid season- if it’s getting cool first lite kiln, but usually it’s too hot for a jacket or long sleeve for that matter
Mid/late season- first lite woodbury with appropriate layering underneath

Early season Kuiu Peleton 240 vest or a midlayer top (Kuiu Peleton 200 or Sitka Midweight Core). Mid to late season is a Sitka Jetstream with layers underneath. I should note that I'm hunting in Oklahoma where the wind is a big factor and unless its December bow, not a lot of days below freezing.

Midwestern bow Hunter here. Echo things above. Sitka stratus or Sitka fanatic. Spent plenty of cold nights in a tree before investing in Sitka. I’ll carry in the fanatic set and dress under the tree before the climb to prevent sweat.

Early season is a toss up. Normally the klamath hoody with any lighter pant I have. I lean towards my Eddie Bauer guide pro pants.
For mid and late season I use the FL solitude 2.0 bibs and jacket when in the stand. With the furnace base layers I stay warm down to around 20 degree's.

Cant say ive used it hunting yet (still new to this) but I did get a used FL solitude jacket last year which I used fishing in 32 degrees with a stiff NW wind. Worked pretty damn well and I cant imagine sitting in a tree being any worse

Depends on where you live. In North Central, MN

Early - Fanatic Hoody
Mid - Stratus Jacket
Late - Fanatic Jacket
