My favorite boat is my 18’ cataraft. I’ve had this raft now for over 25 years, it’s been trailered and flown all over the state of Alaska, from steelhead fishing on the Situk river in SE, to moose hunting on the Wulik river in NW Alaska, and many points in between. I’ve raised both my kids and two chocolate labs on this boat with my oldest son’s (now 18), first trip when he was 3 months, and my youngest first trip when she was 6 months. We’ve had many, many good river memories on this old girl.

Awesome boat. Great pic with all the seats on it.

Love the phantom sport jon you had too. Gotta ask - why'd you get rid to it in favor of the G3?

Thanks.
I mainly bought the Sportjon for long range moose hunts like the Koyukuk river, but didn’t do too many of those, so ended up mostly using it on the lower Kenai for dip netting and a few other local rivers and creeks for fishing. We ended up buying a cabin down on the Kenai Peninsula about 7 years ago and I decided that I could get a lot more use out of a Kenai legal river boat, so ended up down grading. Ultimately, what I’d really like to have is a 20’ Willie with a 50 horse tiller, and the ability to switch between a prop and jet pump. :D

@adventure907 was that your boat I saw on Swarovskii’s AK black tail hunt this morning?

It's not "my" boat, but I do work and guide on it for Glacier Guides. We did have the Swarovski folks on board a while back. I've been wondering when that show was going to air, I'll have to check it out.

I built this 2072 aluminum rig (and trailer) last hear. 1/8” sides, 3/16” bottom with 1/2” uhmw bolted on. Powered it with a 150 jet tiller. Lotsa welding, but it’s fun!
