GMU tag 87,88,90,95

I decided to try and do everything in my power to try and get some meat in my freezer this year after tag soup last year. I decided to pick up a couple whitetail doe tags. I was told by my buddy that I could hunt a ranch with him if I purchased the tags. Unfortunately he decided that he was not going to hunt the plains this year after the fact. I was wondering if duck creek SWA would be a good place to start archery in October or if there might be a better public spot to try for whitetail does. The rising cost of beef and trying to keep my family fed is the main reason I got these tags. If anyone has any tips that would be greatly appreciated. I tried knocking on a few doors and was turned away rather rudely and quickly so I decided to post on here before I continue down that path.
