This is the first whitetail that I have taken. I just don't go after them, but I can see where it is fun in the rut.
Nailed this guy at 300yds chasing some doe around. Neat buck he has an extra spike coming out from under his left side.
It was a cool hunt, just me and my mom. She moved over there about 5 years ago so I can see a return trip in my future next year.
I hunted elk there last year, but did not tag out. I did not buy a deer tag and had to let several big whitetail walk so that's why I went
back to the same spot this year.

Well done, great buck, some guys hunt a lifetime and never kill one that nice.
Great to hunt with your mom too!

I'm from farther east and have mainly hunted whitetails my whole life to the point they just aren't much fun anymore, do not so many ppl hunt whitetails in say Idaho/Wyoming/Montana? Very nice buck congrats!

Whitetails get hunted pretty hard in the pan handle, but there is still a good population.

Sweet ! All we have out here are Whitetail, Western hunting is very different from the Hardwoods out here but they are a great animal and tasty !
