Looking for some input on a book to brush up on my land navigation. Did a quick search and saw quite a few options and wanted to know what you guys recommend.

Look up the Columbia River Orienteering videos on Youtube. The fundamentals are explained in a concise manner.

For books...

Essential Wilderness Navigation by Craig Caudill
Wilderness Navigation by Bob & Mike Burns
Advanced Outdoor Navigation by Greg Davenport

And from the UK, Ultimate Navigation Manual by Lyle Brotherton

All good reads with tips and tricks to make Land Nav easy to understand.

Maptools.com has good stuff for using UTM and grid coordinates with Land Nav.

NOLS Wilderness Navigation is a good one. There used to be a series of navigation essays on the Kifaru website written by a guy named Dick Blust that were excellent in my opinion. Not sure if they are still on Kifaru or floating around the web somewhere.
