Anyone else doing late ML with their Lemhi A tag? Any insight? We struck out last year. The locals said it was mild for the time of year and the elk were still up high and dispersed. We got close after a good 2 mile hike on a herd (400 yards) just couldn't get it done unfortunately. Fun hunt, can't wait to give it another go this year!

I used to do that hunt when I was young. But uncle knew a rancher that would always let us on. Good luck this year. Try by the donkies

You can try knocking on doors. Some ranchers in that area may be happy to have you shoot an elk trying to get into their hay.

I know of about five places I’d start looking. Not shortage of options. Think private land and some foothills nearby below the higher peaks.
