Leupold scope

I just bought a new hd-VX 3HD 4.2 - 16 boone & crockett leupold scope. The instructions say I can remove the lever on the zoom adjustment but was unclear as to there being a plug to fill the hole flush to the top. Have I misread this?

There should have been a plug in the box with the scope.

Didn't see one. The removable piece in the zoom was the only part.

I asked the question of leupold and got an answer the next day. It is on the way from the mother ship.

I tried to order a custom cap for the CDS system. The system failed but when I called with an inquiry as to the problem, the leupold representative took it on himself, ran it through the system and got the cap ordered for me. If the scope is anywhere near as good as their customer relations, it should be spectacular.

The scope is replacing a VX II that served me for 20 years and 18 elk before it started to be squirrely. I got no complaints. That's why I bought another one.

There should have been a plug in the box with the scope.

I've bought 3 VX-3HDs over the last two years and none have included a plug in the box.
