I had my 2-7 mounted on a Model 7 and didn’t want to mess with that setup. Picked up a VX-3 2.5-8x36 off of a buddy, mounted it in some Talleys, and got it dialed in today. First rounds down range grouped well with factory Hornady Whitetail. Will try a couple of other rounds tomorrow.

My first real lightweight setup. This thing is so light it feels like a toy!

Spare the 1oz for more brightness when you need it
Vs the 36mm variant. It’s 13oz for the big one. Talley Lows and it weigh 15oz

Pick yourself up a Ti bolt handle and if it doesn’t have an aluminum trigger guard you can add one of them too.

Very basic trim rifles hope you dig it

On my Montana .308 I’ve had a 2.5-8x36 vx3, 3-10 SHV, and it now has a 3-9x40 Trijicon Accupoint. They’ve all worked well. I would have been happy to keep the SHV on it but bought another rifle it was better suited to and I prefer the weight of the Trijicon in it.
Whats the difference in glass between the shv and the trijicon?

To my eye they are both very similar with the slightest of edge going to the SHV. They’re both good enough that I doubt I could ever tell the difference in a hunting situation.
