What bow are you tall long armed folks shooting these days?
I have a buddy that is rather large. 6'5" 79.375" wing span, 31.5" draw, that has never had a bow that actually fits him. He uses whatever he has had from day one, or what he has found for dirt cheap because money is tight. His latest bow is 29". I am trying to find something used that I/he could pick up and actually get into a bow for his draw.
I personally am a 28.5" length, so have no experience in the 31+" world and have no idea where to even start.
Thanks.

Mathews Traverse here. Have two of them. Nice bows.

I put the list below together in early 2021. There may be other new ones out there. I ignored “old” bows. They had to be current or nearly so.

Thanks!
I/he will be looking for older/used bows for him. That list helps for sure. Thanks for throwing it together.

As suggested the Traverse is a great option. The Hoyt Ultra models also are good options. Just make sure it has the right cam/mods for the longer draw lengths. You can usually find both used at fairly reasonable prices.

I'm a 31.5 or 32 depending. I just bought a new PSE mach 34 supposed to have shipped today. I shot all the new choices this year, more long draw choices than ever before.

My pervious bow was a hoyt carbon long draw it only adjusts from 31 to 33 lol

I have five bows (some older, some newer) that all draw 32"-33", and they're all left-handed. My latest is a Traverse. I haven't shot it a bunch yet, but it sure is smooth.

31.5 here I shoot hoyt ultra’s = they work well for me. I think one is the rx4 and the other a Rx5.

Before that I shot a bow tech cpxl. It is pry 8-10 years old but shoots good as well. Still have it but don’t shoot it much anymore.

Thanks all. He’s going to sell his current Matthews monster that a friend of a friend sold him, and can hopefully find something used in the same price range.

Hoyt carbon defiant 34 with grip removed and side plates on. Love the bow and draw cycle. Need the longest draw cam.

There's way more 31.5" DL bows than are on that list. PSE makes a bunch that go to 31.5". Prime is the company that pisses me off the most when it comes to long draws. I'm a 31.5" draw as well, and used to be a Prime dealer. Told them every year it was ridiculous that they made a 35"ATA bow that only went to 30 or 30.5". To get a long draw bow from them you had to buy a target model. Hoyt and PSE have always had options for long draw shooters.

If he’s looking to save money, some older elites have longer draws. The elite impulse 34 goes to 31” and usually runs a quarter to half longer than spec. It’s a great bow…I still shoot mine a lot. I have it and a traverse.
