2013 was a big year for me. I moved to Wyoming in 2012 and had to wait a full year to gain my residency requirements to hunt my great state as a resident. It felt like the longest wait of my life! Aside from the long wait I definitely found myself here in this beautiful state, I couldn't imagine being any happier! The mountains are calling my name constantly, I am very blessed to live fairly close to the Cloud Peak Wilderness were I spend most of my time. With just an hours drive I can be surrounded by the beauty of the Bighorns aka Cloud Peak Wilderness! There is no better cure to pass time than to do it in the mountains! We Started off the winter right with some cross country skiing. I learned that its not only full of great view and sights, but its definitely an awesome workout!
Shed hunting is a blast! I have never really been shed hunting before, and I'm a cold heart shed huntin' addict now! This trip opened my eyes as to how impressive the KUIU Chugach Rain Gear is! We backpacked into our shed hunting area that was about 5miles in and spring storms were upon us, but we weren't about to let that stop us. On this trip I learned you aren't just walking around and come upon a beautiful set of antlers! No, No, No, these antlers were earned! I also learned how important fitness is not only shed hunting but climbing and hiking to the top of any mountain. Some days were full of rain and sleet and others the sun was shining! We took the opportunity to not only shed hunt but to do some fishing to cook over the fire.
