Looking for some input on a few packs. My wife and I are going to pack in for 4-5 days this year for elk. I am going to get 2 packs

My question is: should I go with the bigger marshall and a metcalf or is the metcalf and say the pintler or Selway a better way to go? I know its about what gear I need to carry.

I have never carried much more than a day pack so this is fairly new to me. I live in a region of Texas where it is not feasible to go and try on packs.

I figure I can use one for a day pack while hunting...... Is the marshall too big for a day pack??

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Go Metcalf and buy the brand new one I have for sale in the classifieds :)

I’m selling to get the Marshall because I am wanting to be outfitted for the 7-10 day range. Metcalf would be perfect for the 4-5 day range. However, if I was taking my wife in, I would go Marshall and Metcalf due to the creature comforts I know that she would want.

Remember, you can always engage the overload shelf to pack in a dry bag with gear or food to extend the size of any pack you mentioned.
