I don’t understand why people don’t cut off the top of the pouch. Don’t have to carry a long eating utensil and don’t have to fish for your food.

If the bag is in one piece, I can seal it up when I'm done and might keep my pack cleaner. Nothing worse than leaked MH stroganoff early on a week long pack, speaking from experience...

I don’t understand why people don’t cut off the top of the pouch. Don’t have to carry a long eating utensil and don’t have to fish for your food.

I use the resealable strip at the top of the pouch to seal it up and retain heat/moisture while the food rehydrates. Trying to cut the top portion off while the pouch is full of piping hot chili mac sounds like asking for trouble...but to each his own.
