So here in west TN we don't have anywhere close to try boots on. I recently busted a pair of Lowa Renegades I have had for years. So wanted something kinda stiff but could be used for everyday. Tried the Crispi Thors, comfortable but too stiff. Picked up a pair of Salewa MT trainer mids at great price, seem to fit the bill, and tried them on and get a poke into the inner side of my right foot when walking. Ive never broke in boots. So should I try to break them in? Can't return them on deal I got. I've always been if something doesn't feel right, especially footwear then ditch them. Any advice would be welcomed.

I generally don't need to break in a boot unless it is full leather. If it is a boot like a Salomon 4D and does not feel good almost immediately, I change size or boot.
