Me and a couple buddies are going to be hunting in the northern shoshone NF for cow elk. I'm curious about things like water availability, roads and hunting pressure.
How are the roads in there? Do you think we will need the ATV? What about water availability if we pack in? How far away from roads do you think we will need to get to see some animals? Think we will need a spoting scope or are 10x binos good enough with a tripod? We will be prepared for grizz and camp bear aware but how much trouble are they in that area?
Thanks for your help with the area this is our first out of state hunt and first elk hunt. We will be driving all the away from CT! We are all in the military, avid hunters (whitetail) and do some backpacking. Thank for your help :)

Oh and how tall is the grass/brush in that area? do you think I should put on a bipod or just shoot off my pack?
