I thought this kit of 6 bags at 28 x 60, but I’m it sure that’s enough. 4 four quarters then left with just 2 for the rest in a bone in AK unit. Seems like it might get a bit tight Thoughts? 2844E185-8752-4BE5-8D94-876BA8030D9E.jpeg

That should work out just fine I would think. A quarter in each game bag, neck meat, backstraps and tenderloins in another bag, and rib cages carried uncovered. So, six game bags would have one spare for me.

Mixed “bag” of answers here. Hahaha.

Rib cages uncovered? Not sure Id be comfortable with that route. Drop hunt and if wx not good it might be a while before meat leaves the field. Think I’d want them bagged up.

Well rib cages can be a little difficult to bag up and take out on the bone. If you’re allowed to, and want to just strip the ribs, than it’s not an issue. If I’m taking ribs out on the bone, I just hang them to form a crust and move on. If I’m stripping them, then it all goes in a bag. Have you killed many moose Panhandler?

We do each quarter in a bag, each side of ribs in a quarter size bag, neck in one bag, straps and tenders in another, then trimmings go in with neck.

8 total bags for us.

I usally bring ten bags but then I hunt in a meat on bone unit so can't reduce the volume much.

With moose and Bou, we put one qtr in each bag, all of the loose meat together and both ribs in one bag. We use the old school Real Macoys and just keep reusing them. I would like to try the tag bags just because of how much smaller they are, just look fragile for reuse but that's said with zero use. For those who use them, how do they hold up?

Used to hunt moose with a guy who believed in five game bags and no more. One for each quarter, and one for everything else. The "burger bag" was often the heaviest load. Let me tell you there's nothing like a 150-pound shapeless game bag wiggling around on your back to make life miserable.

Far preferable to have plenty of bags. I like one for each quarter, and separate bags for 1) backstraps and tenderloins, 2) organs (heart and tongue, usually), 3) ribs (sometimes 2 bags), 4) high grade burger meat, 5) lower-grade burger meat (neck meat). Then I like to have a bag for any meat that might've gotten stomach contents on it (happens occasionally).

So that's up to 11 bags total. Most of these are a lot smaller than moose quarter bags.

Yup set of 6 bags 28X60 gives you 4 ea for the legs plus 2 ea for neck meat halves and a rib cage in each. For tendies and b/s I recommend 1 ea 14x20" bag per moose.

I like to have 2 sets for each moose so I can swap out clean for dirties and then wash/dry them for the next rotation days later.

So one extra bag in addition to the six 28 x 60?
