Oregon archery mulies

Oregon hunters: I really want to spot and stalk a mulie with my bow this upcoming season and I’m in the research phase right now. Not looking for anything huge, just a buck to arrow. Anyone have any unit recommendations? Above tree line or desert?

As said earlier, I would look elsewhere. Mule deer in oregon are in rough shape, so be prepared for low numbers if you decide to move forward. Yes there are still deer, but most units have a population that is a now just a fraction of the management objective. What I used to see in a day 6-7 years ago i would now consider a good season. If you must, I would look for burns in forested country. Be aware that stalking in a burn in hot/dry late summer conditions can be a challenge.
