Pros and Cons to Tarptent Rainshadow 3

I'm looking for a tent that's a little bigger than a 2 man for myself and a friend plus our gear. The main use will be backpack elk hunting in Idaho and Colorado. I've never had a Tarptent but I only hear good things about them. I like the simple design of the rainshadow 3 it looks quick to set up and simple enough that hardly anything could go wrong with it it also seems pretty light and very affordable for a three-person tent. Do those of you with Tarptent experience have any advice to offer?

I tried one a few years back and wasn't all that impressed with it. No vertical room and one entrance on the end. I ended up with a BA Copper Spur UL3 and UL4 and much prefer them......even with the weight penalty. Two entrances, two vestibules, and head room.

I had one and returned it. You enter the tent on one of the ends which is fine if you're 23-years old and a circus performer. It was wide, I'll give it that.

I bought it as a single-man tent, for me, and plenty of room to spread out gear for easy access. I would be reluctant to use it for two adults and their gear. I'd be looking at the Hogback in your case.
