I have a sturdy heavy tripod and a flimsy light tripod but nothing encompassing both. Was looking at the SLIK 734 w/ VA5 head and In doing a little homework I found the Sirui ST125 with the VA5 kit on gohunt is like $290 bucks, the SLIK 734 is 310 and the VA5 head is 165 as separates. Any reason not to go with the full Sirui setup? Open to any other setups I'm unaware of. Thanks. Texas based hunter who gets out for muleys or elk once a year in CO, NM or ID.

I just got the surist124 delivered today. It is way more stable then my vortex high country tripod, but also heavier. The weight is worth it, I usually only bring a tripod on scouting trips. It has one of the better tripod warranties at 6 years.

i got the st124/va5 head package on a mazon black friday deal and sold the va5 head and got the tricer pan head instead it saves some weight. you might want to look up their tripod too however i like how the st124 folds up pretty compact.
