Looking for a suggestion on a small backpack that will hold binoculars, a fuji x camera, water bottle and probably snacks and stuff. Plenty of focus on the “small” part

I've got REI camelbak fourteeners, great pack, separate compartments, water bottle holders, camelbak bladder also.
It cost about a hundred bucks, it sinches up great , very comfortable waist belt. I have a maxpedition condor as well that's my truck bag now.

Have you looked at the osprey katari packs? You could run without a bladder and keep a bottle in the side pocket. They have the day lite pack which is a little larger but the side pockets are useless for holding water bottles so I got rid of mine

Another vote to look into some hip packs. I always thought they looked stupid. But, gave one a chance last year. And have been converted. It's very comfy for short hikes and bike rides. If I'm going out hiking with the dogs for a few hours-this is the pack I grab now.
