I have had some bad situations, and as a last resort I let air out of tires down to about 15 PSI, that gave me better traction and I was able to get out. Not sure if that would work in your predicament or not.

Great news. I buried my truck and my ATV this spring - separate trips but alone. It's a bad feeling. I had no cell coverage so it was just hours of hard work.

Sorry that I couldn't help. I live in Santa Fe. Although it's quite a distance to where you were, I'd have made the trip in my Jeep if I didn't have other commitments.
