Yeah, I was speculating from the perspective that my Howa mini-action with 18” barrel would be right at 5 lbs with the Stocky’s sporter stock. I was assuming the short action would only be a few ounces heavier.
The mini and the superlight actions have a lot less metal under the action than a 1500 short action. The superlight is also a bit shorter than the short action. The Howas are also a bit rougher to cycle and the actions have more openings to let debris in than I prefer.

I wish Stocky’s would have given that stock a bit of negative comb. It still looks pretty nice though.
Haven’t had a chance to shoot mine yet but might do a little DIY with some mouse pads and duct tape if the comb is bothersome.

My ruger american compact is somewhere around 5lbs 12oz if I remember right if you want a cheap factory option.

Here is my Kimber Hunter in 7mm-08. In that pic it has a SWFA ultralight scope, Talley rings, a bubble level, and a salmon river solutions outdoorsman + pic rail. I haven’t cut down or threaded the barrel yet. We removed all the gel from the stock. 063199B3-64E0-43F9-A740-C4D3AB13321D.jpeg
Bare I think it weighed 4lbs 12-15 oz. My dad has the same rifle and his barrel has been cut to 16 1/2” and his gun is sitting at 5lbs 7oz with the same scope, rings, and rail. He’s hoping to be right at 6lbs with a thunderbeast ultra 5.

If you can find one the Kimber Adirondack is incredible. I paid $600 for mine a few months ago. Chambered in 7mm-08. I sold the factory stock for $400 and stuck it in an MPI Microlite for $650. So I’m in it about $900 and it comes in at 4.5lbs. About 5.75lbs scoped
