I pulled the pad off and the portions within the butt for the pad's screws to go into are not very long towards the grip. So, cutting it down would have to come up with a solution for a way to mount the recoil pad.

I did skim bed it and added in a spartan gunsmith adapter though, duracoat paint just showed up today.

I’m working on a similar build trying to decide on barrel right now. OP seems to like OMR, have you not had good experience?

May just get a proof and have it done at a local smith since the pricing will come out to the same as the pre-fit carbons I’ve seen

My barrels shoot great.....but yes customer service from OMR after I paid was terrible, before I paid they were very helpful. Quoted length of barrel build was almost triple what I was quoted. I had my gun smith finish everything and he had the redo a few things. So I am not sure of his gun smith abilities.

First shot was the lowest. Made a small adjustment and put the second and third almost touching.

Went to the long range section and confirmed 570 and 980 yards. I will do some more fine tuning, but unfortunately the wind has not wanted to agree with me!

Bolt knobs are done!! I could not be happier with the DIY project and how it feels, cycles and looks great.

It took about 2 hours at my friends shop.

Maybe I just lucked out on the stocks that were available for immediate shipping . You will be happy with it.

I am really happy with the knobs. The factory little ball is terrible. I am very happy with how they turned out. It only took about 45 minutes per knob (probably could be 30 minutes but me and my friend had to catch up on life).

I thought the knobs were going to be a little bulky for my liking, but I really love the functionality of they and I feel like it finished off the build.

I went unpainted and had each a few days after I ordered. $400 per, they have some blems for less

I cancelled two stocks that I purchased in February, and switched one out for the VG2 carbon blemish Howa/Vanguard and the other for a Remington 700 long action that they don’t list under the blem, but she said we can cut you one and I had both in less then a week.

I did not want to start a new post, but I have been wanting a gun cover ( for strapping in the pack or atv rides) . I settled on this, and it’s made in America!!

I feel happy with this and the guns both shoot under 1/2 inch.

I did the same. Weatherby vanguard LA. OMR 26” pre fit 1/10 twist in 300 win mag. Bedded Stockeys stocks vg2, timney trigger, Talley 20 MOA base with a ziess v4 6-24x50
It was shooting the Barnes 180 gr at 3/4 MOA during break-in. Super happy with the rifle so far, just need to finish my hand loads and send it out to some steel! Nice builds!!
