Being a resident in Iowa is awesome for whitetail hunting. Statewide archery tag, and statewide gun or muzzleloader tag guaranteed every year. I also get several antler-less only tags to fill the freezer. The only drawback is access to land, but I imagine that is the case in every good whitetail state.

I’ve hunted across the Midwest and Iowa just has something special.

My only experience outside of Michigan in eastern OH which was a great area, but there’s something about being able to walk out the back foot and getting into the tree. We’re getting into bigger bucks the last 5yrs due to improved practices so I’ll vote MI even though I’ll probably change my vote to Iowa after 2022.
