I also think it's garbage BS. Much the same as all the scent killers, waste of money.

    Colorado DIY Backpacking hunt help

I don't mean to come off as derogatory, but based on your posts within the thread it seems as though what you're really looking for is a handout on a unit or area. If guys are willing to divulge their spots through PMs that's great, but I've seen first hand what the internet can do to an area...

    Bear Rug??

I just checked around Denver yesterday. Seems 1300 to 1600 is about average for a decent bear over 5ft.

    Two Weeks till blastoff

Pretty solid list. Your pack in weight is actually pretty good, sounds like you're planning on carrying more than you'll need on a daily basis though. 30 lbs seems excessive, I'm not sure what you're planning on there but it's probably over kill. As was stated above...WET WIPES! Dry them out...

    2017 Colorado elk hunt

You must be sitting on 24 plus points??? Units 201 and 10 are the best in the state, a 350 bull would be the minimum you'd shoot in there. Unit 61 is touted as one of the best units for good bulls and great hunting in general 315 to 350 seems to be the norm.

Elk hunting and camping above timber?

The difference in protection that a couple hundred feet will provide will be well worth camping below treeline. Between lightning and wind I wouldn't feel comfortable keeping a camp above timberline for very long, it's just too much exposure. You could get back to camp after a storm and have all...

    Colorado GMU 85

There are great elk in 85 but 95% of them are on private ground that I guarantee you'll never get on. The public that is available is hunted as hard as any in the state, and any elk on the public quickly move onto the ranches as soon as guys hit the woods.

    Colorado unit 49, 57

Best of luck to your wife in there. My buddy and I should draw 49 archery elk tags if all goes to plan. We'll be up and start scouting as soon as the snow allows, hoping mid june-ish. We'd be happy to share info once we get out there.

    Which kuiu camo pattern

The elk very literally don't care. Camo patterns are bought for your taste, not because they offer any significantly better concealment from animals. They see movement, not how pretty your clothes are.

Denver or Ft Collins Archery Shop Rec

Archery in the wild is the only shop I use. I live in Denver and still make the drive to longmont just because of the quality of work along with the service I've always received. Boyd the owner is one of the nicest guys around and knows Bowtech tuning as well as anyone out there.
