    lightweight canvas hot tents

I used an Esker 10x10 for 8 days this fall. Had a light rain but nothing significant. Used the sprinkler in the yard every day for a week prior and it didn't leak at that time but it wasn't sustained either. 2 cots and the stove with room to spare. It sure beat sleeping on the ground! Only...

truck camper with bumper pull horse trailer...

I have a 10' camper with a 3 horse stock combo. It needs a hitch extension but has worked great so far. As mentioned above, low spots have potential to drag something, but I had a 31' living quarters trailer before so this is easy! Even with the 1 ton drw I would be concerned about legal...

    Horse Hunting Solo

I hunt and ride solo almost exclusively. Everywhere I go is grizzly country! It's comforting having the horses in camp when alone as they'll let you know when there are visitors at night though I sleep with earplugs as I'm a light sleeper. My wife makes me carry a spot. It does take some extra...

    Canada Moose Hunt 2021

The days are getting short and probably pretty cold by mid november. There will be no bugs at all. The local advice you got above is spot on. Very low chance of seeing any bears let alone grizz that late. Bring layers to wear including cold weather gear. I havent heard of the outfitter but...

    Calling Black Bears?

I've had some success calling bears. In my experience they seem to come in slow, and lose interest easily. I called when I was younger and never thought of cats and grizzlies! An electronic call would be handy if legal.

    Horses??

Like already said, predators shouldnt be any issue, especially with horses that are used to the smell of bears and wolves. Everything else that can break or get bucked off will. Do your best to practice packing before going as it is an art to keep a pack string from having issues and being...

    World record big horn sheep

He was ear tagged as many of the sheep in the Sheep river provincial park are captured and tagged some point in their life. This sheep and another great ram lived on private land in a zone that doesnt have a sheep season and would travel to the sanctuary only for the rut. They were both...

    Western Hunter Sleep System

I have a similar bedroll that I use when I take the horses. They are very warm and roomy, but huge and heavy. I unzip it for a blanket when I stay in my trailer in November

    The Mountain Rambler is LIVE

You guys are lucky, mine shipped but with Canadian customs it can take 2-3 weeks to get things from the states! On a positive note, I got a call from Joe and Aron just because the shipping was a few days late. Cant beat dealing with a company that makes an effort to make sure their customers...

Eddie Bauer Pant and a big thanks to Luke Moffat!

Manosteel, did you buy these pants in Canada? I would try these, but not if I have to pay the dollar difference. I've been using Kuiu exclusively, but I'm not hung up on camo and am done paying crazy duty!

    Best occupation for outdoorsman

Another oil and gas guy on 14 and 14. Between the pay and time off it is very good for hunting, but there is a trade off of missing a lot being gone for 2 weeks at a time. Its great having more than half the year off and being able to afford to do what I love!
