Got lucky on my last day able to hunt A zone. He was bedded in the shade and deadfall when I found him so I did not notice all the extra character until after I shot him and his head finally turned sideways . Time to find a taxidermist!

A little late to the party but here’s some pictures from my POW trip. It was my first time to the island and my first time hunting blacktails.

still figuring out my spots down here in The area I live now, but I was quite happy finding this guy on the 12th of October on a cut up, brushed out finger ridge adjacent to big timber. I looked like a great spot for a buck to live. I glassed him up from about only spot you could see him.
It’s great getting to hunt these things and still be able to see the ocean. Pretty blessed to grow up on a place like the Oregon coast.

I know Im late to the game on this but I gotta know how wide that thing is. thats awesome. I don't know if my mind could put together I was looking at a blacktail in the field.

It was just over 20” wide
